In looking for a way to set the scene and mood of the movie before the story opens, producer/director Blake Edwards turned to the animation genius of Friz Freleng and his partner David DePatie. It was the DeFatie-Freleng team who created the ultimate symbol of wit and nonchalance-a long, lanky panther who communicates through thoughts and actions, never spoken words. INTO The PINK
